I have the greatest news to share! On Monday evening in the midst of eating dinner with 100+ loud, crazy college students our little boy asked Jesus into his heart! The little mister is now a Christian and is so proud of it!
This is how it played out: Last Sunday he brought home a coloring page from church that says “Can’t stop the Gospel“. It’s been hanging on the fridge and several times last week he asked me what the Gospel was. Each time I would share it with him and end with “Any time you want to pray and ask Jesus into your heart you let us know. We can do it whenever you want”. Sometimes he would ask questions but most times he would just listen. I could really tell he was taking it all in. On Monday at dinner he asked Brian to sing the worship song Mighty to Save. He wanted to know more about the part where Jesus conquered the grave. Brian explained it and shared the Gospel again and right there he said. “Daddy I want to pray that, will you tell me the words?”
To be honest I have always been skeptical when people said they accepted Jesus at age 3 or 4. But after seeing his face, his eyes, the joy he had when we told me. I knew it was real! He gets what happened for as much as a 3 year old can. He is so proud of the decision he’s made. And he loves the face that the angels had a huge party in heaven all for him. He says he can hear them chanting his name in his ears:)
There are so many things I am thankful for. Obviously, that Brian and I know where our son will spend eternity. That both Bri and I got to be a part of this amazing decision he made. I love that it happened here at OC, where we met and where we were called into full time ministry. Just that God continues to use OC as such a significant place in our family. I am thankful that our prayer since before he was born has been answered, that he would come to know Jesus at an early age.
Now the little mister’s big question is: Mom, you know when my heart goes bump bump, bump bump? Is Jesus going whoa whoa whoa! (As he is jumping up and down)!
ok so this post totally brought tears to my eyes….what a sweet little blessing your son is! Great news..thanks for sharing!
That is so awesome! I loved reading the full story. What a special way for the Lord to continue working in your family. Such a great memory for all of you!
Great job mom and dad for setting the stage for Mr. Mason to be in a position to accept Christ. We have an awesome God who works in mighty ways!
